TAP LEE
Life History
Tap Lee was born in Taisun China on May 22, 1935.
He was the son of Fook Guey Lee and Tan Non Lee.
Tap immigrated to America in 1955 to work and go to school in the Washington DC area with his parents.
Tap eventually went back to China to get married in January 1959 with his future wife Wan Ng, who was I the process of immigrating to America.
They married in June 1959 at Hong Kong. They finally reached the United States in February 1962 along with their child Benny.
Tap worked as a cook in a number of Chinese restaurants, including the family restaurant the China Café, located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC.
Tap then worked in the family rooming house business before retiring early.
Tap is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wan Ng Lee, 5 children; Benny, David, Jane &(husband Frank), Helen-(gone), and Harry &(wife Ada), 5 grandchildren; Autumn, Nathan, Brandon, Caitlyn, and Jessica.

Death Notice
Tap Lee passed away on October 9, 2019 in the presence of his wife of 60 years and some family.
Viewing will start on Friday October 18, 2019 with a viewing from 7 to 9 in the evening at the Collins Funeral Home (Valet Parking) located at 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring Maryland 20901.
Funeral services will start on Saturday October 19, 2019 at 11 am, also at the Collins Funeral Home.
Procession should start around 12 pm or so. Those that want to drive can follow the hearse. The address of the cemetery is Washington National Cemetery 4101 Suitland Road, Suitland, Maryland 20746. Burial will be in section V, with the most prominent landmark being a white marble statue of Christ overlooking the section which is situated on a hill.
A 32 seat bus will be available for those that do not wish to follow in the procession on their own. The bus will leave 10 minutes after conclusion of the interment and will return to Collins Funeral Home. Those deciding to ride the bus can leave their vehicles parked at the Collins Funeral Home.
Interment should take place around 12:45 pm or so at the Washington National Cemetery.
A reception is to follow at 2 pm at the Silver Fountain Restaurant located at 13533 Connecticut Ave, Wheaton, Maryland 20906. This is within the Aspen Hill Shopping Center.
